The shepherdess Marsanne is an enveloping seat designed to reconcile comfort, sensuality, and the architecture of movement. Inspired by the movement of a theater curtain opening or closing, it evokes a suspended moment, the intimacy of an instant. Its curved design, hollowed structure, and welcoming volumes make it both a sculptural and deeply human piece.
This contemporary shepherd's chair revisits the codes of the ceremonial armchair without pastiche or overload. It combines feminine line and architectural language, the softness of the fabric and the tension of curves. At the crossroads of decorative object and functional furniture, Marsanne stands out for its ability to embody emotion while meeting the demands of daily use.
Initially designed for the Hôtel de Pavie – Relais & Châteaux 5* in Saint-Émilion – it was conceived to adapt as well to refined residential spaces as to demanding design hospitality areas. In a bedroom, living room, reading nook, or discreet lobby, Marsanne offers a relationship with comfort that goes beyond simple seating: it is an atmospheric piece of furniture.
The work on the curve, the play of light on the fabric, the gaps between lines, gives this piece a strong visual presence without heaviness. Its generous seat contrasts with the apparent slenderness of its base. It invites you to nestle in, slow down, and feel protected.
Its French manufacturing results from excellent craftsmanship: precise cabinetry, manual padding, and upholstering stitches. Each shepherd's chair is produced in a limited series, in workshops capable of adapting the finishes according to contexts of use and projects. This flexibility allows perfect integration into sober atmospheres as well as more expressive environments.
Marsanne stands out for its subtle balance: between form and function, tradition and modernity, sensuality and clear line. It is designed to last, to age gracefully, to be part of those pieces of furniture that accompany life, silently but with character.
