GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN 18th edition
Discipline : Interior Design
Categories : Office / Office: Creative & New Tech Firms : Grand Winner
On the 15th floor of Place Ville Marie, Montreal’s landmark cruciform tower, the Accenture Montreal office reimagines a global consultancy’s presence as an immersive, sustainable, and people-centric environment. The 19,000-square-foot interior balances the international brand’s forward-thinking ethos with a grounded sense of place, drawing inspiration from the city’s urban fabric and cultural energy.
Developed through collaborative discovery sessions with Accenture’s staff and leadership, the design responds directly to the rhythms of modern work. Spatial diversity and discovery are defining traits here: from open collaboration hubs and private focus rooms to a sleek IT bar and café, each area encourages both connection and calm. Subtle curves guide transitions, maintaining sightlines and softening the workspace’s formal identity.
As for discovery, playful interventions appear throughout the project, challenging traditional notions of corporate interiors. A pointillist skyline mural, custom neon typography, and a meeting room designed to evoke the feeling of floating above a dusty horizon imbue the space with a sense of discovery. These surprises foster emotional engagement while enhancing the functionality of each space.
Brand immersion is evident from the outset. A sculptural wall composed of 1,200 interactive trigonal prisms in Accenture’s colours activates the reception area. This custom feature filters natural light and reflects movement, echoing the brand’s iconic chevron and reinforcing the design’s central themes of transparency and progress.
Materials were chosen not only for their aesthetic quality, but for their environmental integrity. From low-emission finishes to a careful consideration of acoustics, every decision aligns with the project’s pursuit of LEED ID+C Silver certification. Lush hanging gardens, indoor air quality monitoring, and CO₂ sensors in high-occupancy rooms are part of a larger biophilic strategy, promoting employee well-being and productivity through a strengthened connection to nature.
The result is a workplace that invites people to gather, create, and reflect. With framed views of Claude Cormier’s The Ring and material nods to I. M. Pei’s architectural vision for the tower, the project situates Accenture within Montreal’s past and future. The design anticipates change and growth, with flexible elements and textures that can evolve over time while preserving an enduring sense of grace.
