Dear members and friends of IES-Montréal,
We are happy to announce a special collaboration with the GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN Awards, a partnership which will allow both organisations to put in value and share their respective expertise at the benefit of the entire design and lighting community.
As part of this agreement, the GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN will be able to draw on the recognized expertise of IES-Montréal for the implementation of Lighting category of its prestigious annual competition.
For its part, IES-Montréal, the local chapter of the Illuminating Engineering Society, will take advantage of the exceptional visibility offered by the GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN by presenting its 2026 Prix Lumière during a special presentation at the GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN Gala, to be held on November 19, 2026.
Although the IES Montréal Prix Lumière and the GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN remain independent and autonomous programs*, this collaboration reflects a natural synergy between our two organizations. It will allow us to better celebrate excellence in lighting design and to highlight the creators of high-quality environments, for the benefit of users and the environments built for them.
The agreement also provides for the possibility of collaborating on other events, the details of which will be announced shortly.
* Please note that you may apply to both competitions separately. Participation in one program does not affect eligibility, evaluation, or results for the other.
| “For the Montreal Chapter of the Illuminating Engineering Society, the creation of categories dedicated to lighting projects by the GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN represents a significant milestone for our industry. The lighting of built environments is an underestimated element that plays a key role in the quality of the experience visitors have at any location. This initiative finally gives it the recognition it deserves.”
