The owners wanted to evolve their Westmount home into a modern living space that respects some of the original architectural elements of the house. We have kept the original elements of the house such as the stained glass windows, the Victorian staircase, the fireplace, the moldings of the house. A fan of Danish design, we have worked on the entire kitchen, custom-made furniture with a direction borrowed from a Nordic accent. The accents were given by the direction of the grain of the wood, full and in pre-glued slats. The ceramic takes up the shapes of Westmount stained glass but with a matte texture. Color accents are provided by Lambert et Fils and Authentik lighting. And the materials like the stair carpet, the leather of the bench, the maple worked in all its forms, the entrance wall and the books and accessories.
