Westmount Copenhagen:
The owners wanted to evolve their westmount home into a modern living space that respects some of the original architectural elements of the house, such as period stairs, windows and doors, and moldings. A fan of Danish design, we have worked on the entire kitchen, custom-made furniture with a direction borrowed from a Nordic accent. The accents were given by the direction of the grain of the wood, full and in pre-glued slats. The ceramic of the backsplash takes the forms of Westmount stained glass but with a matte texture. Color accents are provided by Lambert et Fils lights and Authentik lights. We have definitely highlighted maple on the floor. But also in the kitchen, in the form of plain maple panels and pre-assembled 1-inch slats, on low and high cabinets. For the bench we used solid maple for the legs and the top. All other materials and fixtures unite with the soft tone of maple.
