In the enchanting landscapes of Poland, the year 2023 marked the realisation of an architectural
masterpiece – the extraordinary WATER & LIGHT HOUSE. This opulent single-family residence
boldly defies conventional norms introducing a breathtaking feature that sparks imagination – the
suspended glass-walled swimming pool.
As we embark on this extensive journey, we delve into the intricacies of its design, explore its
profound social and environmental impact, and revel in the remarkable innovations that set it apart
as a paradigm of modern architectural brilliance.
Concept
At the heart of WATER & LIGHT HOUSE is a captivating interplay of volumes and voids, where
design meticulously adheres to proportion as the cohesive element. This intentional approach
creates a visual harmony through the repetition of the parent element, shaping the aesthetic and
functional character of the residence. The fundamental concept serves as the guiding force behind
the house’s spatial organization, fostering an environment that seamlessly blends luxury with
sustainability.
Functional Layout
The dimensions of WATER & LIGHT HOUSE have been thoughtfully planned, covering an
expansive area of 1944 m2. This canvas of space allows for diverse functionalities without
compromising on aesthetics or comfort. Every area is meticulously designed to serve its purpose
effectively, contributing to the overall harmony of the residence.
The three-story structure, comprising a basement, ground floor, and attic, unfolds as a harmonious
composition. Positioned to capture breathtaking views, the house welcomes visitors with a narrow
pool at the entrance, traversed to access the interior. The transparent entry, coupled with
a landscaped patio featuring herb gardens next to the kitchen, exemplifies a harmonious indoor-
-outdoor connection that enriches the overall living experience.
The ground floor is a haven of relaxation, housing a sauna and an indoor pool that seamlessly
extends to a terrace equipped with a jacuzzi. The living area integrates the lounge and dining
spaces, creating fluidity in daily living. The underground level accommodates technical rooms and
a garage, ensuring functionality without compromising aesthetics.
On the upper floor three children’s bedrooms with walk-in closets and bathrooms provide personal
sanctuaries. On the opposite side, the master bedroom boasts a private bathroom and dressing room.
The mezzanine overlooks the living room below adding an extra layer to the sense of space and
connectivity and enhancing the dwelling’s overall allure.
