In the heart of the Solar district, Brossard, Quebec, the Ubiweb community thrives in a work environment where creativity and collaboration thrive day after day. Ubiweb, a creative company, offers digital marketing services to businesses on a subscription basis. In order to develop its growth, Ubiweb needed to relocate.
The mandate was clear: to transform the rapidly expanding offices into a youthful, hip workplace focused on social interaction. To this end, the integrated design firm A+, in collaboration with ISSASTUDIO conceived a workspace geared towards collaboration by fitting out various meeting rooms, each more original than the last; by dividing teams according to their tasks and collaborations; in addition to fitting out a central space as a multi-use cafeteria where happy hours become a tradition.
On arriving at the floor dedicated entirely to the company, visitors are welcomed into the space just right for socializing: the cafeteria. A vast, luminous central space, the cafeteria features a large central coffee counter and bespoke lounge banquettes with integrated lighting. In the evening, the room becomes a lively place. In other words, the cafeteria acts as a central hub where members of the various teams come together to take a break, chat, enjoy an unobstructed view of the outside, but also get together at parties in a festive environment where music and lounge ambience rub shoulders.
Aware that each team has different needs in terms of working environment, they are grouped by zone and meet on either side of the core. The idea is to encourage communication and teamwork, but also to spread open work areas across the floor, avoid the creation of stretched workstations and improve overall acoustics. What’s more, each team has access to collaborative spaces with a variety of themes. Imagine a room transformed into a picnic area, a traditional library filled with books, or a log cabin. This gives each team access to dedicated spaces where they can meet, exchange ideas and work together effectively and in a variety of ways. This layout fosters team cohesion, communication and productivity, while offering a working environment that meets everyone’s specific needs.
The design team opted for neutral, dark tones to create an elegant, professional aesthetic that doesn’t clash with the neighborhood’s urban environment. Black brings a touch of sophistication and modernity while adding boldness and character to the space. It also conveys a sense of stability and solidity, reinforcing the reputation as a reliable company. In this instance, dark shades create a contrast with the bright colors of the meeting room worlds.
In short, Ubiweb aims to be a living space focused on creativity, where ideas come to life and fun is the order of the day. Ubiweb now has a place where its employees can thrive, collaborate and innovate, while being anchored in an ever-changing community. Ubiweb’s corporate culture becomes visible through the layout and design of the workplace.
