Guru is a unique smart cooking system where a connected cooktop assists everyone to cook. It connects people, families, and friends through gastronomy. With its lightweight, safe, and portable design, users can take it to any gathering and surprise the group by becoming the chef of the night!
The sleek designed cooktop features automatic heat and time control by monitoring the temperature of the pan and measuring the weight of each ingredient. From preparation to plating, Guru guides users to cook amazing dishes through a connected app with stunning videos and texts throughout the whole cooking process. The user only needs to follow the step-by-step instructions for a fantastic result and enjoy a pleasurable learning experience.
The convenient app creates the shopping list of ingredients, suggests the required utensils, and calculates the preparation time. For the health-conscious consumer, it displays nutritional information, such as the number of calories in each dish. With helpful cooking tips from chefs, users learn important techniques like how to properly sharpen a knife or how to perfectly cut onions. The user can also opt for the manual mode and cook their own recipes by controlling the temperature and time.
The development process took five years, thousands of hours of technical studies, dozens of researchers, and many partner companies to create this unique item on the market. Guru had the support of Brazilian design and UX/UI studios, improving the ecosystem to awake more innovative projects. The main challenge was to combine a scale, a temperature sensor, and an induction cooktop into one system. The scale is at the base of the cooktop ensuring accurate weight measurements. The retractable center pin on the surface detects the cookware’s temperature and automatically controls the heat level of the induction coil.
Another major challenge was to create the recipes and content for the app. Each recipe was created by our chefs and thoroughly tested on Guru. The videos and instructions guide the user to confidently prepare delicious and tasty meals.
