Transforming a Warehouse into an Innovative Workspace
Métaphore design is proud to present Targray’s new offices in Kirkland. Converted from their former windowless warehouse, the transformation of the space is nothing short of spectacular. The double height and the new glass curtain wall flood the new space with light.
When Targray embarked on their expansion project, the goal was clear: to imbue every aspect of their operations with their commitment to environmental stewardship, including the very spaces where their teams innovate and collaborate. Their vision for a sustainable future is not just lofty ideals but is tangibly reflected in the design and ethos of their workplaces.
Métaphore was tasked with creating a stimulating work environment conducive to collaboration and innovation. The idea was to transcend the confines of traditional office spaces to provide each employee with a place to thrive both professionally and personally. It is precisely this bold vision that guided every step of this inspiring renovation project.
Upon entering their new space, one is struck by the dynamic and luminous atmosphere. The decision to open up the space to the outside with a glass curtain wall was crucial in creating a sense of openness and connection with the surrounding environment. The warehouse’s double height was ingeniously utilized to create diverse workspaces. A mezzanine and two staircases were added to accommodate meeting spaces and relaxation areas, offering breathtaking views of the entire place. This vertical design not only optimizes space utilization but also fosters informal exchanges among colleagues, encouraging the emergence of new ideas and creativity.
In addition to reimagining the space’s architecture, particular attention was paid to interior design to create an ergonomic and comfortable work environment. Flexible work areas were established, integrating height adjustable workstations to promote mobility and employee health. Meeting rooms equipped with the latest technologies were set up to facilitate remote collaboration and exchanges with the company’s international teams.
But beyond the aesthetic and functional aspects, these new workspaces reflect Targray’s commitment to sustainability and the well-being of its employees. Initiatives such as the integration of eco-friendly materials, the implementation of energy management systems, and the creation of green relaxation areas contribute to creating a healthy and environmentally friendly work environment. The elevated wooden podium is filled with various relaxation and collaboration spaces with abundant greenery now benefiting from plenty of natural light.
In conclusion, the transformation of this warehouse into a superb workspace at Targray is more than just a renovation project. It is a reflection of a dynamic and forward-thinking corporate culture that places humans at the heart of its strategy and development. These new offices are not just a workplace but a true idea incubator where creativity and innovation are encouraged at every moment.
