Swing like no Other
The idea of designing a swing came out of a need for variety and choice in the outdoor swing set market. During the research carried out to select one suitable for the terrace of an architectural project, it was found that they were all too bulky and did not correspond to the parameters of the project. The objective of creating a more contemporary swing, with simple and fine lines, is thus born.
The creative process was based on the themes of balance and weight, to achieve a feeling of complete freedom when swinging.
Steel and aluminum were quickly chosen as materials for their structural qualities. Viewed from the side, the swing resembles those found in suburban backyards in the 1970s. In fact, the design itself is a playful exploration of triangular geometry made up of two steel triangles. The predominant triangle is sturdier and serves as the primary support system. The secondary triangle, shaped like a thinner line, supports the aluminum bench. The two triangular structures drape around a pole, like straps, giving it the appearance of being suspended. The bench for its part was custom designed and reproduced by laser to illustrate the layout plan and the contour lines of the site of the architectural project.
