Chinese cuisine emphasizes conviviality and etiquette. At the heart of this tradition, Cantonese cuisine is the undisputed leader in the realm of visual presentation and titillation of the taste buds.
In the heart of Guizhou province, stands this “city in the mountains, mountain in the city”, a modern city that hugs the unevenness of a plateau landscape. Master Zheng Jinfu, who has been awarded two Michelin stars for six consecutive years, has set his sights on the Sunac National Road Club site to showcase high-end Cantonese cuisine that has been passed down from generation to generation and has become part of a thousand-year-old history. Indeed, the ancient capital of Qianzhou has a cultural heritage that goes back to ancient times.
After the Confucian Wang Yangming was demoted to Longchang, Guizhou, he gave birth to a unique academic thought based on new learning. The designer was inspired by this thinking to analyze and dissect the characteristics of the Guizhou landscape. Based on Wang Yang’s concept of the unity of knowledge and action, he interprets the spatial intentions contained in conventional spaces by infusing them with new design concepts, an approach that allows him to use the most appropriate design elements. The volumetry and style of the restaurant revisits the local tradition of spatial representation uniting “images and poems within the same picture”.
