GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN – 17th edition

Discipline : Landscape & Territories : Grand Winner

Categories : Landscape Architecture / Landscape Architecture - Housing Project : Gold Certification

Categories : Landscape Architecture / Landscape Architecture - Terrace Roof : Platinum Winner

Nestled within the vibrant Kelana Jaya District, this pioneering residential development redefines contemporary living standards with an unwavering commitment to comfort and quality. In a district once renowned for affluence, rapid urbanization had led to overcrowding, challenging the very essence of community well-being. Witnessing a staggering population density reminiscent of urban hubs like Mumbai, the imperative for change was undeniable.

Emerging from this narrative of necessity, this project embarked on a transformative journey. Situated adjacent to a neglected water body, once a receptacle for district runoff, the endeavor faced a daunting task. Yet, fueled by a vision of environmental renaissance, the project team at WAA undertook the arduous task of rejuvenating this neglected ecosystem. Overcoming policy hurdles and societal inertia, the derelict waterscape was reborn as a verdant public haven, a testament to resilience and environmental stewardship.

Drawing inspiration from this reclaimed oasis, the architectural vision unfolded across Eight (8) acres, comprising Two (2) towers soaring Fifty-One (51) Floors, housing a total of Four Hundred and Fifty-Two (452) Units per tower. Adhering to local mandates for green space and communal harmony, Four (4) acres were dedicated to a central oasis, seamlessly integrated with a functional podium deck. Mirroring the organic ethos of the rejuvenated landscape, the podium’s design ethos harmoniously blends form and function, nurturing diverse ecosystems within its folds.

Each facet of the environmental deck is meticulously curated to cater to the diverse needs of the community. From tranquil water features to lush greenery, every element serves as a canvas for communal interaction and rejuvenation. The integration of a one hundred ninety (190) meter lazy river, spanning the divide between water and green spaces, epitomizes the project’s commitment to sustainable living.

Within this verdant enclave, a myriad of amenities awaits. From a rejuvenating pool complex, complete with eco-conscious water play equipment, to a rooftop multipurpose court and herb garden, every facet is designed to foster holistic well-being. Embracing innovation and sustainability, the development sets a new standard for contemporary urban living, where nature and community thrive in harmonious symbiosis.

In its seamless fusion of architectural innovation and environmental stewardship, this project stands as a beacon of hope, a testament to the transformative power of design in fostering vibrant, sustainable communities.
