GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN – 12th edition
The perfect balance between wood, concrete, aluminum and a living garden makes for an ingenious composition in every regard, right down to the lighting scheme and the fixed furnishings. Through thorough research and skillful mastery of materials, the complete transformation of a former jewelry shop into a restaurant with a Japanese sensibility has produced a space that is both contemporary and timeless, urban and exotic.
A light fitting conforms to the contour of the counter, sublimely recalling the curved wooden strips floating above the bar. The fixture is made with 467 aluminum parts and 1,868 brass rings, producing a most striking visual effect.
The bar, made with concrete bricks, enhances the experience; the pivoting stools with traditional Japanese curves display an exacting technical know-how. An attention to detail manifests itself throughout this eatery’s different zones and in the meticulous execution that holds fast to the theme.
A sheer masterclass in design.
