Restoration of an old house of the year 1916.
Complete renovation of bathrooms
Harmonize the old with the new.
Nowadays, a lot of importance is given to contemporary buildings while old ones have more potential than one might think. Whether you want to restore or add character to your home, old or new, the restoration of this house is a great example. This is a century old house in the heart of Winchester, Ontario where the richness is found in the finesse and attention to detail.
This project is worthy of respect. Today, preserving an old house contributes to the environment but also to the well-being of our society. It is often the story of a lifetime of family values. Especially since preservation translates into a desire to prolong architectural integrity and, also, to prolong life. It is with this in mind that we have collectively contributed to the implementation of this project.
The respect of the trends and preferences of the time have brought a lot of charm and character to this house. Although we were able to preserve an undeniable and unique cachet of this house. The treasures of the past have been enhanced while creating a more contemporary context for the client. Taste the sweetness of this house. Living in it is a source of pride.
The challenge of this project is to harmonize the old with the new while preserving the original character of the house as well as the complete review of two bathrooms that are chic, warm and ergonomic according to the needs of the clients. The materials selected for these bathrooms are in the image of the entire house. These bathrooms are therefore the heart of the project.
The entire project was designed to preserve the original character. The layout plans, materials, lighting, furniture and colors were carefully selected for each room according to the tastes and needs of the clients without distorting its origin, giving a modern touch when needed. We also recuperated furniture and old precious objects from the family to give them a second life in addition to reducing our ecological footprint. The result is a house transformed in a perfect balance between restoration and enhancement of the past by contemporary interventions that give the house a chic, warm and friendly atmosphere of classic and timeless style.
