GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN – 16th edition

Discipline : Landscape & Territories

Categories : Landscaping / Swimming Pool & Terrace Landscaping : Silver Certification

A Prestige Project

The warm residence project fulfills a singular commission: to build a fireplace in the center of a pool, enjoying the breathtaking view of Lake St. Joseph! The client wanted to make the transformation of their outdoor space for the redevelopment of this space overlooking the lake, and to live a unique experience comforting water and fire.

A sleek design and a unique experience

The project offers a design to match the residence with its remarkable architecture. The pool is located on a lower level than the existing outdoor terrace. It is accessed by wide natural stone steps which allows us to have a progressive view towards Lake St. Joseph. The lights on massive natural stone columns announce the access to the new terrace. The limits of the pool are defined by transparent guardrails that do not obstruct the view of the lake while ensuring the safety of the owners. This transparency is punctuated by the presence of two natural stone columns. Two beautiful flames illuminate the space and recall the presence of the fireplace. The outdoor living room in the center of the pool is accessible by three steps and contains the new fireplace custom designed by the landscape architect. This duality of the elements, water and fire, fascinates us and gives us a unique experience. This new space brings an inviting atmosphere for young and old alike!

Noble and delicate materials

The new exterior design is marked by the use of materials that combine modernity and sensitivity. The natural stone of the columns and the pool, brings a luxurious and imposing character to the project, the glass of the railings, allows for transparency and an unobstructed view of the surrounding landscape.

Expertise to match the project

The project presents the challenge of combining water and fire in the same space; the pool. The challenge was therefore to successfully design a custom project to have a sleek and safe design. All the equipment necessary for the operation of the new pool and fire pit was integrated into the design. The project is also a testament to its ability to coordinate and educate the contractor in the construction process. This resulted in a unique design confirming his knowledge and passion for prestigious design.
