The house « LE REFUGE » is part of the OXYGEN ST-CÔME estate, the only LEED-certified eco-energy chalet estate in North America, with direct « ski-in ski-out » access from the slopes of Mont Saint-Côme. The stunning homes in this real estate project blend perfectly with the enchanting scenery of Saint-Côme, in the Lanaudière region.

Inspired by Scandinavian and contemporary design, Le Refuge is one of the 4 models designed by Maryse Leduc Architect, a pioneer in ecological architecture in Quebec.

With unparalleled eco-energy performance, this passive solar residence is built with durable, local, eco-friendly materials for a healthy and environmentally friendly living environment. Triple-pane glass, superior insulation without thermal bridges, metal roofing, wood siding, geothermal heating, efficient equipment, diamond-polished hot water radiant floor heating; every detail has been carefully considered to contribute to comfort, well-being, profitability, while maintaining a minimal energy footprint. The compact yet highly functional space opens and extends into the surrounding nature. Outside, an integrated shed allows for the storage of outdoor equipment.

The zen and minimalist spirit of this house leaves room for intimacy and aims to be a warm and festive family haven, promoting relaxation, health, and well-being with its brightness, simplicity, natural materials, and enhanced comfort. The bedroom and mezzanine upstairs benefit from pleasant natural lighting.

Le Refuge is intended to be a cocoon bathed in light, seamlessly integrating with its environment. Its timeless style, both exterior and interior, gives it a sense of durability, longevity, and belonging, thanks to the local origin of materials and artisans involved.
