Longnan is one of the cradles of Chinese culture, so we took this regional culture into account during the design process of the Ramada Hotel Longnan. Using the mountainous landscape of the region as a central design element, we combined traditional oriental motifs within this large landscaped space, drawing inspiration from the concave and convex structure of the surrounding natural environment. Continuing with this theme, we directed the interior and exterior lighting, as well as the play of shadows, to modulate an interplay of light and dark, blending contrasts of dark surfaces and red hues drawn from Chinese culture, all in contrast to the complexity of the space. The overall effect produced by all the elements of the program of this hotel manages to generate a simple, powerful, quiet, discreet and elegant temperament.
