PONTO tablesystem

PONTO table is an innovative combination of aluminium ( the supporting beams underneath the tabletop) and solid wood – the legs. In the upper-end of the legs a “negative print” of the extruded beam-profile is milled out. This allows the leg to be slided onto the beam and left where wanted. When the table is standing, the gravity will lock the legs and stabilize the whole construction.
The advantages of this construction in relation to more traditional leg-mounting is:
– The leg can be mounted without screws or tools
– Freedom in leg-positioning. The leg can be placed where it will best fit the chosen chairs and not get in the way for the sitting persons. The table can be composed with large or smaller overhangs.
– The construction-principle is “cooperating” with gravity and therefore it becomes more stable than traditionally screwed constructions.
– The strong aluminium-beams allows very long tables – and huge spans between the legs. With 4 legs PONTO can be as long as 558cm. It is also possible to assemble more beams, add more legs and build the table as long as wanted – with no limits.

The pyramid-shaped legs, inclining in two directions, adds stability and character to PONTO, which has got its name from the bridge-like appearance coming from those inclined legs and the long span in between them.
The simple character of the wooden legs leaves a very distinct, warm and poetic expression, and the table can be seen as a truly innovative and renewing interpretation of the original Scandinavian functionalism.
The table is very easy to separate into wooden-parts and aluminium-parts for recycling after its lifespan.
Ingeniously technology meets fine craftsmanship and eco-responsibility in a simple, yet refined shape.
