Famous for its uniqueness, the building of Pittstop Vélo-Café successfully blends industrial and rustic styles. Hip, unassuming, and modernist, it is designed to be an inviting meeting place where one can feel inspired and comfortable.
In sharp contrast to the company’s white logo, the black steel sheeting that covers the roof and walls of the building exhibits strength and elegance. In contrast, the planks of rough hemlock give out a feel that is organic and rustic.
Adding texture and visual richness to the whole, Corten steel was included to create a robust structure that frames the entrance and extends into large planters. Tall grasses growing in them work in tandem with the seasoned wood to accentuate the organic character.
Inside, the industrial look highlights the bikes on display. The Pittstop Vélo-Café: an intelligent project that reflects the company’s commitment to quality, durability and aesthetics.
