GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN – 16th edition

Located in the heart of a multi-generational residential neighborhood, Saint-Paul-De-La-Croix Park is a place that is used by residents and frequented by people of all ages. In addition, the park has the role of meeting the recreational needs of several schools, day camps and daycare centers located nearby: Louis-Collin Elementary School, Regina Assumpta College, Blue Garden Elementary School, etc.
The park’s chalet and wading pool, built in 1958, have not undergone major renovations and have seen their condition deteriorate in recent years. The existing multipurpose room, as well as the trailer at Jacques-Rousseau Park, were no longer sufficient to meet the various needs related to park activities.
The major restoration of the Saint-Paul-De-La-Croix Park chalet was aimed at refreshing, adapting and accommodating the building in order to meet the demands of its recreational use, as in the present mandate.
As part of this mandate, 2Architectures developed a signature identity for the building and its aquatic landscaping. The use of colors and sloped roofs make the complex a community landmark within the park.
The wading pool and water games have been completely redesigned to make the site welcoming, sustainable and universally accessible.
