Outer Heaven
Outer Heaven, a 2000 sq. foot New York City bar, was designed by Montreal architect, Philip Hazen and built by the Montreal design-build firm, SAJO. Millwork and most furnishing were also supplied and installed by SAJO. This one-off design features a luxurious bar with plenty of comfy seating for patrons, a skylight with a constantly changing light show and a large, well stocked DJ booth.
The wall of the record-bar-lounge area is covered in acoustic walnut panelling as are the columns in this area. A back-lit strip of Japanese comics fold around a section of the wall, adding a fun element to the ambiance. The bar itself features the same acoustic walnut panelling and is complimented by a rich, dark, highly polished granite countertop. The floor colour is a match to the walnut panelling, contributing to the overall cohesiveness.
The shelving behind the bar is lit from above, illuminating the variety of alcohol available to patrons. Embossed wallpaper is used in all remaining areas of the club and also works as the backdrop for behind the bar shelving.
