Discipline : Construction & Real Estate
Categories : Construction / Apartment & Condo : Bronze Certification
Categories : Real Estate Development / Mixed-Use Development : Gold Certification
With a simple, sleek and contemporary volumetry, the project – whose envelope will be mainly composed of white concrete panels – stems from a concept imagined by the renowned architect Douglas Cardinal. We know that odeyak means canoe in the Cree language, hence the subtle and stylized representation of a canoe for Odea, the eponymous project. This allusion to this rich cultural heritage is the signature of the project and will form a fine relief footprint at the corner of the Robert-Bourassa and Ottawa axes that will stand out as a landmark in the urban landscape. The tree and its components constitute variations of this symbol throughout the project: the soft heart, the curve, the wood, the forest. A great environmental concern and several principles of sustainable development (LEED V4 Silver – targeted certification) will also be practiced: low ecological footprint, efficient water management, partial conservation, and integration of 270 Prince Street in the project, etc. The architecture firm Lemay is responsible for the project. The partners in this mixed-use project in Old Montreal are Eeyou Eenou Realty Properties Inc. and Cogir Real Estate.
