The major renovation project involved redesigning the interior layout as well as considering certain exterior interventions in order to accommodate the new offices on Montreal’s Plateau Mont-Royal. The mandate was to transform a building formerly used as a car wash into a modern space dedicated to the commercial offices of the Noda Group. Initially designed with a narrow, elongated configuration, characterized by a garage door on the front facade, the space was then used for several years for piano repair and restoration. This evolution of its original use presents unique challenges, but also opportunities for the creation of an innovative and functional workspace.
The presence of the garage door and the garage floor, as well as of the piano repair and restoration workshop, are a key feature of this project.
The presence of a large garage door on the front façade was an essential feature of its former function, allowing easy access for washing vehicles. This specific layout of the building presented an interesting challenge in its transformation into commercial offices, requiring creative thinking to maximize the use of the available space while retaining its distinctive character. In addition, in order to meet the space’s specific needs and optimize its use, we designed several pieces of bespoke furniture, contributing to the overall aesthetics and functionality of the working environment.

We took into account the diversity of workspace needs. By combining open spaces that encourage collaboration with individual and collective areas, we have created a versatile environment that meets the varied requirements of users while promoting productivity and well-being at work.
In addition to the open-plan spaces, we have also created a new, more functional work environment.
Parallel to the open spaces, we have also integrated individual work zones for those who require a more focused environment. These spaces offer employees the opportunity to retreat when concentration is required for specific tasks or moments of reflection.
We have created a number of individual work areas for those who require a more focused environment.
We have created group workspaces that encourage collaboration, teamwork and exchange. These areas are designed to host informal meetings, brainstorming sessions, teamwork sessions and customer meetings. Versatile spaces equipped with whiteboards and screens offer the ideal setting for stimulating discussions and collaborative working sessions.
By skilfully combining open, individual and group workspaces, our redevelopment project offers a dynamic, versatile working environment that meets the varied needs of users. This holistic approach fosters collaboration, concentration and creativity, creating an environment conducive to innovation and professional success.
