« Reaching new heights », the Formula 1 Pirelli Grand Prix du Canada 2023 trophy allegorizes the protective shape of the « halo » that shields the driver’s head when behind the wheel of his single-seater. This subtle, abstract masterpiece embodies the speed and frenzy associated with Formula 1 racing. Each curve of the trophy reveals the essence of F1 car aerodynamics, while recalling the winding bends of the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve. This trophy symbolizes the perfect union between mechanical power and artistic elegance. It expresses sporting excellence and celebrates the challenges taken up by Formula 1 drivers in their relentless quest for excellence.
A symbol of refinement and distinction, it’s the creation of talented designer Lili-April Allaire Caron, an industrial design student at l’École de design de l’Université de Montréal. It was produced by Protocole – Trophées d’Exception, where the designer brilliantly completed a design internship in March 2023, as part of the creation of this trophy. « It’s an exceptional opportunity for Lili-April to see her creative work unveiled to the world in this way. I am delighted to see my daughter create her own mark in the prestigious world of Formula 1 trophies. Made from solid Quebec aluminum, machined then anodized in black, the base of the trophy features the official F1 identification and discreetly presents the shape of the chequered flag. Still in aluminum, the trophy is anodized in a reflective gold color, whose smooth, shiny, luminous surfaces reflect passion. Like a flame that rises and points to the sky, this trophy celebrates the determination of whoever takes the top step of the podium.
