In a context of constant distancing from nature and galloping mineralization of spaces, green walls bring us back to this fascination for the plant in the uniqueness of its forms, colors and textures.
Since 2009, La ligne verte toit vert Inc. has been committed to greening all surfaces. Initially established in the green roof sector, one of its specialties also concerns green walls. The development of interior green walls is modular and customizable, adapting to any type of space by creating living spaces of natural beauty. A true living work of art, they bring an exceptional cachet to spaces. With multiple benefits of thermal, hygrometric and acoustic regulation, they also improve air quality in buildings.
The green wall system we have developed consists of a series of interconnected stainless steel gutters that support individual 4-inch pots. The creation of this product was born from an internal reflection to democratize green walls through a durable product, easy to assemble and install, and above all, made in Quebec. Indeed, we realized that the majority of products proposed on the market to form modular green walls were made of plastic and manufactured abroad. We therefore chose stainless steel to compose the structure of our modules. This material has the advantages of being durable, reusable and recyclable and is also produced in Quebec. We work in partnership with two Quebec companies that bend and weld the stainless steel elements that make up our product. By limiting the manufacturing and assembly of our elements to local partners, we reduce the ecological footprint of our product.
The system works as follows: each gutter is equipped with a wall pass and an overflow, once the water level is reached, the water flows into the next gutter and so on until it reaches a recovery gutter located at the bottom of the wall. The absorption of water by the plants is done by capillary action, the bottom of the pots being slightly immersed in the bottom of the gutters. The use of pots also allows for easy replacement of plants in case of problems. By its simplicity, this system allows a fast watering and limits the damages in the irrigation system.
The use of stainless steel gutters for our green walls constitutes a solid base for any vertical vegetation project. The modules can also be equipped with an automated irrigation system and LED lights. We also offer a mobile version mounted on a steel frame.
The versatility and the multiple possibilities of this product allow it to be inserted in any physical environment, inside and outside, bringing a little more greenery in our living spaces.
