Enter the unique, surprising and magical world of Monsieur Jean! The world of our hotel establishment is inspired by its charming, intriguing and elegant founder. The personality of the decor and the employees is flamboyant. Monsieur Jean – Hôtel Particulier, perfectly blends the art of living and entertaining.
As soon as you arrive, you will be amazed by the hotel’s facade, which combines elegance with a touch of eccentricity. Outside, visitors are greeted by a large blue wall and the popular bronze sculpture Le Grand Bienvenue, which sat for 23 years on Quebec City’s popular Rue des Jardins.
But it’s in the lobby that Monsieur Jean’s eclecticism shines through. On the ceiling, hundreds of tiny lights make the effect of a starry sky. On the floor, black and white marble tiles draw a checkerboard. On the wall, mirrors-screens broadcast animations. A library area invites you to read, play a board game or use the muted workspace.
In the living room, a large fireplace anchors colorful sofas. The space showcases beautiful contemporary works by internationally renowned painters and printmakers such as Nelson de la Nuez, Angelo Accardi and Brad Faine, not to mention Canadian artists Guy Boudro and Stikki Peaches. An elegant piano and colorful sofas complete the decor.
Every corner is worth a shot! Photographers, Instagrammers and influencers are having a field day.
On the floors, elevator doors open to a muted, enveloping midnight-blue hallway. The starry sky of the lobby continues, with a patterned carpet on the floor straddling indigo and turquoise.
In the bedroom, get a taste of elegance and sumptuousness. The same enveloping blue is echoed on one wall and the custom ash cabinet. The floor is covered with Quebec ash. The king bed sits at the center of the space, topped with a blue and cream striped headboard. The furniture is carefully chosen to offer optimal comfort to the hotel’s guests. These include large upholstered armchairs that feature tiger heads with playful and colorful accessories.
The spacious bathroom, equipped with a walk-in shower, radiant heated ceramic floor and marble flooring, will win over even the most demanding guests. The German-origin mirrors, covered in gold leaf, are reminiscent of Salvador Dali’s famous soft watches.
In order to offer guests the ultimate in relaxation, some rooms also feature a deep freestanding bathtub, sometimes even with a magnificent view directly over Old Quebec.
Luxurious rooms come with private outdoor terraces. These are equipped with an outdoor fireplace to spend unforgettable evenings by the fire in good company and make the most of all the excitement of Old Quebec. Discover the beautifully preserved architecture of the walled city at the same time.
With its flamboyant elegance and eclectically chic decor, this 49-room boutique hotel in the heart of Old Quebec is sure to catch the eye.
