Modernisation du Casino de Montréal
GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN – 8th edition
It was incumbent upon us to underscore the revival of the Casino de Montréal, a project that spanned several years, and to take a look back and offer tribute to everyone involved in this undertaking.
The consortium of MENKÈS SHOONER DAGENAIS LETOURNEUX ARCHITECTES / PROVENCHER_ROY ARCHITECTES were responsible for the major retrofit of the Casino de Montréal. The project, which was spread over a period of four years, responded to the challenge of simplifying the building’s indoor and outdoor areas of circulation, improving the quality of the gaming, recreation- al and dining areas as well as providing a thematic unity to the different designs. “We are proud to have succeeded in reviving the former Expo 67 pavilion’s character, which now makes the Casino de Montréal a gambling establish- ment that is unique in the world and renowned for its original personality,” says Claude Provencher, founding partner of Provencher_Roy Architectes.
