The exhibition between Heaven and Earth is presented at the Galerie de la Passerelle at the Capitole de Québec
Imagined in synergy with the hanging space (the footbridge) and the flight of white geese. Marjorie presents us with the geese as a central element. Free and living in a colony, these birds must follow a flight structure and work as a team in order to achieve their goals. Their roots are anchored in her and come back to tint our fields, river as well as our St. Lawrence.
Symbolically, they are designated as messengers between heaven and earth.
A little more about the artist
Marjorie Roy, photographic artist
Born in New Beauce, in 1983, in Saint-Isidore.
She spends her childhood listening to conversations between artists and contemplating the works at her parents’ art gallery.
At age 15, she discovered her passion for photography, which, at the time, was in film.
Unwilling to follow conventions to the letter, she created space for herself to be free in order to better develop her art. She tells a story with her photographs and invents enigmatic passages. Her graphic or abstract compositions bring strong emotions. The photographer creates a dialogue between the real and the imaginary.
She chooses brushed metal as a printing medium for her flights of fancy and names her photographic assemblages by the date and time of the end of their creation.
The formats exhibited at the Passerelle vary between 36×36, 30×60,24×60, 48×48 and at the entrance of the Capitol Hotel from the top of the stairs there are 7 April 14h29 format 48×96
