At the invitation of Groupe Restos Plaisirs, a major Quebec operator in the restaurant industry, Olivier Dufour and his collaborators, from different creative disciplines, undertook to bring to life the character of Madame Chose, an exuberant and epicurean old lady who opens the doors of her vast residence and offers her guests a unique gastronomic experience. A strong narrative that stages a lively, colorful and very theatrical place in which the charming Madame Chose virtually evolves. Immersive technologies and augmented scenography combine here to immerse the visitor in the different atmospheres of the domain of the host of these places: her residence, her backyard, her garden, a glade, a pond, her food reserve, and of course her kitchen. … Everything has been done to allow this unusual encounter between the world of gastronomy and immersive experience.
The Lucid Dreams creative team, made up of design, architecture, live performance, film, advertising, visual arts and multimedia professionals, was involved in all stages of the design : development of the original idea, space planning, scenography and accessories, lighting design, furniture and tableware, creation of special effects and multimedia content. audio-visual integration, development of musical atmospheres, advertising film…
She is a bourgeois bohemian and exuberant epicurean during the day. She is an exotic butterfly at night. Throughout her life she travelled the world, bringing back souvenirs, savours and odours from around the globe. As a hip and extravagant grandmother, she is happiest when people come together to share and discover new flavours. Discreet and mysterious, she is everywhere, in each detail of the experience—but always invisible.
Madame Chose is not just a restaurant. It offers a gastronomical experience that tantalizes and feasts all the senses thanks to a compelling story and uniquely interactive atmosphere. Madame Chose leverages true experiential design approaches and transforms an ordinary meal into the extraordinary. At Madame Chose, nothing is at is seems. There is nothing usual about the entire experience.
