Louis-Vuitton
The renovated Louis Vuitton in NorthPark Mall, Dallas, Texas is a 10,397 square foot flagship, with a glass floor to ceiling facade and a grand entry way. Craftsmanship is paramount for Louis-Vuitton, as it is for SAJO which made for a good fit.
At the outset of the project, a digital, point cloud file derived from multiple scans (photometric and laser) of the physical space, was created and subsequently integrated with the architectural plans. These were then transformed into a 3D digital model and BIM platform. The digital files were shared with the client, the architect, the general contractor and others to detect clashes and adjust plans in virtual reality prior to undertaking construction in the actual space. An online collaborative whiteboarding digital platform enabled teams to work effectively together, from brainstorming, to planning and managing agile workflows.
Once construction was undertaken, weekly site meetings of the physical space were conducted virtually. The use of a centralized cloud-based, project management tool throughout the project made it possible to create and share fully immersive experiences and engage in seamless communication throughout the project, in real time.
Rich innovative materials were used in the project, infusing the traditional Louis Vuitton style with an ultra-modern allure. Illuminated ceilings throughout, at times augmented by the use of intricately designed shades. The floor plan seamlessly divides the store into smaller defined areas, a must in such a large space.
The final project was considered an accomplishment, largely attributable to the resilience, resourcefulness, and perseverance of the entire SAJO team.
