Geneva Bowman, a recent graduate in graphic design and a self-taught illustrator, crafted this captivating map as part of her Graphic and Digital Design curriculum at InFocus Film School in Vancouver, BC. Using Adobe Illustrator software, she produced this work for an assignment, marking her debut with the program.
The map highlights a walking tour of some of Budapest’s most prominent locations, drawing inspiration from the city’s bohemian culture she took notice of during her time there. Its intricate illustration style and minimal yet intentional colour palette capture the city’s essence, providing a harmonious blend of clear information and striking visuals.
The legend’s inclusion of an antique Budapest brooch design pays tribute to the city’s art-centric heritage, adding a cultural dimension to the map.
Geneva’s design serves as an artistic representation of the city’s cultural landmarks while also providing a practical guide for visitors to explore the city’s iconic locations.
