Lignes et Horizon

By : Regard Vert

GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN – 16th edition

Discipline : Landscape & Territories

Categories : Landscape Architecture / Landscape Architecture - Housing Project : Silver Certification

A prestigious residence perched on a cape allows for an elusive view of the skyline, the river, and the Island of Orleans.

This landscaping project is a remarkable masterpiece beautifully harmonizing the architectural elements of the residence and the key elements of the garden. A lively reflection between architect Aline Gravel and Regard Vert was carried out in order to optimize the house’s guidelines and thus, to transpose them into the landscaping. The house has a glass entrance that invites us towards the horizon. With the help of the paving stones on the floor, the focal point of this area could be exploited to its full potential. The installation was also oriented to replicate the pine slats found on the house.

The facade hides the back of the house well, which is meant to be intimate, chic and fun. It’s an invitation to come and discover the oasis that lies behind. A dining area, large enough to accommodate several guests, is wrapped in carefully chosen greenery and invites you to dine while taking in the view.

The sunken pool area is sublime! The fact of having lowered this section of the garden allows these occupants to enjoy it and once again, admire this view worthy of the greatest hotels.

The fire pit is an indispensable element in this project to enjoy the horizon. The boldness of creating the surface in a circle while using modern and linear materials makes it even more sublime and unique. A circular shape also invites exchanges and discussions.

A multitude of trees and evergreens were planted around the house to integrate it with the surrounding nature. Privacy being an important aspect to keep in mind, the choice of materials and their layout gives us the impression that the design and the house are one.
Here no compromise was left to chance and the result is breathtaking!
