From the heart of the Old Port of Montreal, this penthouse offers spectacular views of both the city’s humming downtown core and the perpetually moving St. Lawrence. Everything in this space is as elegant as it is welcoming, and time here seems to stand still. For the very busy clients, we set out to create a comfortable home that would be the perfect place to unwind after a busy day and a wonderful showcase for the owners’ paintings and works of art.
Taking our cues from a typical Paris apartment, the original chevron flooring has been fully sanded down to restore its natural colour and the walls have been adorned with white panelling for sophisticated appeal. Light, understated finishes were selected to infuse the space with warmth and show off the clients’ highly colorful artwork.
The imposing wall unit, which stretches from the floor to the 12-ft.-plus ceiling, serves as a majestic display case for exhibiting books, fine art and an eclectic assortment of finds from their extensive travels.
