We worked around a palette of colors and materials inspired by the photographic works from the clients’ collection: terracotta, navy blue, rust red, brown, pistachio green, white, wood, and Italian terrazzo, which is particularly highlighted.
In this project, many axes have been developed in response to frustrations in the function of the upstairs apartment: no entrance, no storage… As a counterpoint, the project revolves around its vast entrance, a theatrical curtain housing numerous storage spaces, and an entrance that is always unobstructed even during the winter sports season.
The main challenge of this project was to recreate unity in this house divided into two heterogeneous apartments to bring perfect coherence. This involved creating a new circulation to rethink the spaces. The staircase, customized, has been designed to form a link between the floors and to recreate the uniqueness between each of the spaces in the house. The design of the staircase raised technical challenges, with an extruded volume with a formwork to fit harmoniously with multiple alignments.
