We present the La Duchesse project!
The challenge of our work was to transform a characterful apartment with moldings into an airy space with modern insertions. In modern decorating, Haussmanian moldings bring an artistic dimension to otherwise flat walls. Their sophisticated shapes and intricate details add depth and character to a space. They can be used subtly to frame specific areas, or more pronouncedly to create a striking visual impact.
We chose to make a kitchen with modern lines by integrating wall moldings on the door fronts. The key to their successful integration into a modern decor often lies in their association with other contemporary elements. Contrasts between old and new create a captivating aesthetic. Haussmanian moldings can thus be married to sleek furniture, bright colors or modern textures, offering a harmonious balance between past and present.

The circulation has been completely revisited to make the space functional for the family. The central terracotta island with its round corners allows two adults and two children to turn and cohabit without frustration.
We decided to use terracotta on the island to create a feeling of warmth and comfort. This warm hue can be used in a multitude of ways to redefine the aesthetics of a room. It adds depth to the space, while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. Have you noticed the luminaire’s perfect color match?
