Kith Miami

The 9,200 square foot Kith flagship store in Miami is located in the Design District of the city. All Kith stores are custom built, based on store location, with no two being exactly alike. SAJO was hired by Kith as the general contractor for this site to oversee all aspects of store construction.

Throughout the project high-end finishes were employed. Marble was used for some areas of the flooring while travertine was used in meandering patterns in others. White sneakers glued to dark panels in arched doorways within the store made for a unique “patterned tiling”.

Curvilinear walls display clothing as well as delineate different sections of the store. In addition to being used for flooring, travertine was also applied to wall finishes. Other wall finishes included corrugated fabric, venetian plaster, wallpaper, wood panelling, and brass metal. Stone shelving on laminated curved glass walls display shoes and accessories. Recessed spot lighting and accent LED strips are found throughout the store, lining staircases, millwork and ceiling elements. In other areas perimeter cove lighting with a hidden track on a knife edge system is used.

Safety is always an important part of store construction. Given Kith’s location, the storefront had to meet with certain municipal hurricane standards, so a hurricane-rated glazing system was applied to the storefront. Once done, strips of black metal were used to partition the glass panels.

In partnership with Major Food Group, Kith operates the restaurant Sadelle’s, and incorporates these restaurants into some of its locations The Miami Design District store is one such location. Sadelle’s is located on the second floor of the building and occupies about 40% of the floor.
