GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN – 15th edition

Discipline : Product

Pet care has made incredible strides in recent years as our beloved animal companions claim their rightful place as an integral part of the modern family. However, having dogs of their own, Bluekube has noticed several troubling issues surrounding how pets are fed and watered, which hasn’t changed much since the invention of dry dog food in 1860.
Dog bowls sitting flat on the floor posed a health issue, causing neck strain and digestion difficulties. Additionally, many dogs struggle with excessive air intake while drinking, resulting in choking and often vomiting.
And are they truly a part of the family if at dinner time our four-legged friends are shuffled off to laundry rooms or utility closets, just to keep kitchens clear of puddles and stray kibble?
Bluekube set out to create a product that improves the lives of both pets and their humans, at last bringing them together so they can eat as a family. After countless iterations, Bluekube developed the perfect solution: the Kibble Katcher.
The Kibble Katcher is an all-in-one pet feeding system, designed with ergonomics in mind. The ideal height was calculated to accommodate a broad range of pet sizes. The innovative floating polypropylene disc serves two purposes: it allows dogs to lap up water at a controlled pace, as well as keeps the floor dry by preventing the water from sloshing out.
Both the food and water bowls are mounted on an angled aluminum shelf that directs spilt water and kibble into hidden trays below. These trays collect water and kibble separately and allow it to be discarded or returned to the bowl.
The functionality of the Kibble Katcher does not come at the expense of beauty. Made with a Baltic birch plywood that is lined with white laminate, its clean lines and exposed wood edges are reminiscent of a mid-century modern look that will seamlessly integrate with the majority of kitchens. The shelf is made from beautiful aircraft-grade aluminum that resists discoloration and corrosion. The food-grade, BPA-free polypropylene bowls and floating water disc are dish-washer safe for easy cleaning.
The combination of style and function makes the Kibble Katcher perfect for both the pet and their families.
