Tao Yang Li is located in the west of Jingdezhen, the porcelain capital. It is an important part of Jingdezhen Pengjiarong historical and cultural block. Due to its proximity to the Imperial Kiln and the Changjiang River, since the Ming Dynasty, there has been a street pattern composed of streets running north-south and lanes perpendicular to the Changjiang River, with the Imperial Kiln as the center. Relying on the imperial kiln factory, Tao Yang Li and its surrounding areas have formed a production mode of “official cooperation and civilian burning”, showing a functional layout of “production, residence and business” mixed with each other. However, with the development and transformation of the ceramic industry, the urban life forms closely related to traditional production customs have gradually changed. The original production and business Spaces have been left idle and transformed, the urban vitality of the old city has gradually declined, and the urban heritage based on ceramic production has gradually deteriorated due to the lack of effective protection. Based on the above situation, Taoyang Lixia Nong area is positioned as a cultural experience place integrating catering, accommodation, cultural and creative functions, in order to continue the original urban style and function, and enhance the vitality of the old city.
On the north side of the site, Shuifu Nong is positioned as a youth hostel and a variety of street facing snack shops; Pengjiaxia Nong, adjacent to Hubei Guild Hall, is a Liyuan boutique hotel and cultural and creative shops; and Bijiaxia Nong, south of the site, is a variety of shops, homestays and opera theaters. Combined with the new business mode, Shuifulongkou on the west side of the plot built a two-story youth hostel by using the original residual wall and the foundation trace, so as to complement the original alley space. On the north side of the building, a courtyard behind the alley was restored using the ruins of the original workshop. The former workshop woodshed retains its wooden roof beams, and the interior has been updated into capsule apartments. The ancient well and kiln site in the courtyard, combined with the design of landscape sketches, become a place for young people to exchange leisure. The east end of Shuifu Nong was originally a blocked brick wall. By opening up the north-south branch of Shuifu Nong, pedestrians can go south to Peng Jiaxia Nong. The buildings on both sides of the branch lane are connected by a corridor bridge on the second floor, and the lower part is enclosed by the mountain wall of the existing building to form an irregular open space, which is not only a part of the road, but also opens up the scale between the buildings as a courtyard for staying and having tea.
