George’s restaurant, which strongly emphasizes modern European cuisine, is an integral part of Hotel Éclat Beijing, a luxury boutique hotel for guests to experience museum-quality art while enjoying stylish accommodation. Inspired by Parkview Green’s mission to be a hub of modern art and lifestyle, a restaurant design concept is committed to the mission of sustainability, striving to push the boundaries of science and imagination, to demonstrate a model of contemporary living.
The design is built upon the aesthetics of art, incorporating elements from art galleries, aiming to showcase the idea of ‘luxurious art, artistic luxury.’ Its design style blends nostalgia and modernity, embodying the spirit of contemporary art. The interior decorations and art pieces are displayed like exhibits in an art gallery. The iconic bright red color symbolizes vitality and passion, providing visual stimulation in a romantic atmosphere.
On the external glass curtain wall is a modern painting acting as a prelude to the design. It allows everyone passing by to appreciate the artistic work. Adjacent to it are the bright red entrance doors. Behind them is a dining hall themed in ‘Red’ with accents of ‘white’ for an atmosphere of romance and art.
The dining area is surrounded by glass walls which let in natural light. On the right side, tinted class screens are installed on the top, adding a mysterious feeling and a sense of privacy. On the left is another dining area with red chairs and a long red bench sofa against the clear glass panels.
For impactful visual effects, the idea of contrast is applied. Peaceful white contrasts with passionate red. Opposite the entrance is a peaceful whitestone wall embedded with dynamic “rolling waves”. Against this feature wall is a streamlined L-shaped counter for showcasing exquisite food choices. Hanging from the ceiling is a rigid metal sculpture “Water Drops”, giving a feeling of momentum.
On the far right is a VIP lounge. The Interior is lit with dim lighting for a cozy atmosphere. The living room and dining space inside are divided by a curtain screen made with strings of metal beads, subtly revealing Marilyn Monroe’s image fills the space with nostalgia.
