GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN – 16th edition

Discipline : Interior Design

Categories : Office / Office 5,400 - 54,000 sq.ft. (500 - 5 000 sq. m.) : Gold Certification

Categories : Special Awards / Interior Design +Wood : Silver Certification

The design for Garoy construction’s new spaces in Quebec City is the result of sensitive, thoughtful and dreamy reflection on the context of returning to the office in a post-pandemic era. Perron’s team gave it careful consideration during a design process that lasted over two years.

The result is meant to be a bright, warm, colorful and different place that emphasizes not only wellness, but the fun and enjoyment of working together of the 100 employees at Garoy construction.

its riverside location allowed for a breathtaking view from the outset. This view is where everything is articulated, i.e., the common areas as well as the open-work divisions, in order to circulate light.

As for the common living spaces, they are synonymous with conviviality, designed in such a way as to encourage exchanges between the people who live there. The warmth comes not only from the human exchanges that take place there, but also from the imposing exposed wood structure that demonstrates the client’s expertise in its field.

The desire to put Garoy’s expertise forward was manifested in strong and assertive gestures; exposed wood framing, highlighting the building’s mechanics, custom concrete formwork design. Many references to steel structures through winks like helmets and papers drawn in Garoy’s image by our own designers.

Let’s praise the openness and generosity of the client who not only testified to wanting to do things right, but to do them differently. Garoy has been responsive and proactive throughout, always having the employees at the center of the decisions, wanting not only efficient spaces, but also a pleasant living environment. Golf simulator, training room, kitchen island, greenery, textures and colors. The furniture was chosen to differentiate itself from the competition. So it’s a symphony of elements that awakens the senses, a sense of well-being and pleasure for those who occupy the 18,000sqft building.

Garoy’s values are in line with Perron’s, which is why they naturally overshadow the project; passion, rigor and proximity.

Perron made sure to bring their specialty ,attention to detail. We call them internally the beautiful details. They are beautiful not only in their aesthetics, but in the inner feeling they kindly provide. We believe strongly in these to complete the experience through the very special attentions a space can offer to those it houses.
