Categories : Art Projects / Artwork - Residential Space : Silver Certification
Strangely familiar, sometimes tangible, often uncertain, residing between chimera and reminiscence, it is a captivating range of forms and symbols that this new series of works by artist Christian Gravel presents.
Emerging from a dialogue between painting and digital art, this recent production is available in two types of original editions. Only three copies are produced as prints on aluminum panel, and prints on archival paper are signed and limited to twenty copies.
Through a process characterized by sampling, the artist continues his exploration of the déjà-vu. Comparable to collage, this series that began a few years ago seeks to highlight the subjective relationship we have with various graphic and pictorial phenomena. Witnessing and reflecting on our multiple, hybrid, interconnected and impermanent world, for the artist it is always about finding or making sense through this prolific chaos.
After living several years in Montreal, Christian Gravel now lives and works in the Charlevoix region. The artist has participated in several group exhibitions, including the Foire Papier fair in 2019 in Montreal. Represented by Galerie Lacerte since 2013, his work is now part of private and public collections, including the Loto-Quebec collection.
