GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN – 17th edition

Discipline : Communication & Branding

Categories : Environmental Design / Mural & Artistic Installation : Platinum Winner

The general concept for these 12,000 sq.ft. Deloitte offices was developed around Laval, a city described as a hub surrounded by land and nature. It is an island where the city unites with flora and fauna, everything being connected together by water and bridges. The duality between concrete and nature are displayed fully here. Welcome to the connecting City: Bridging humanity. Under this narrative, Deloitte Laval appears as a place where sensibility to the surrounding biophilia meets sustainability, accessibility and wellness.

It is from this axis that the artistic and graphic interventions present in various forms of expression throughout the spaces originates.

Upon exiting the elevators, an abstract installation of a large black circle on a white background serves to pique the visitor’s curiosity. Through its luminous beam extending to its left, the object achieves its signaling property, with Deloitte’s corporate green light helping to guide the user to the main entrance.

Then, located in the meeting rooms, four printed mural interventions are found. In addition to enlivening the rooms, the artworks symbolically represent Deloitte Montreal’s fields of expertise and clientele. Created through a collage-style photographic montage, human, technological, natural, and architectural subjects coexist in compositions reminiscent of the circle, a characteristic element of Deloitte’s brand image.

Finally, with the primary function of adding intimacy to the spaces, two graphic gestures are displayed on glass walls. In employee spaces, the image evokes the fluidity of the rivers surrounding Laval, while in the client area, it is more of an abstract nod to the structures of its bridges.
