Guiding Idea
Creating a colossal landscape to support the presence of this contemporary style house, built on a very steep site, using noble and durable materials, while maintaining a chic, sober and natural appearance. This was the guiding idea behind the design of this complete residential landscape project.
A major challenge
Considering a total drop of 11 meters on a wooded lot, the organization of the circulation, the support of the different landings, the conservation of mature trees and the management of runoff water brought a high level management challenge.
The forest is omnipresent on this residential lot. It is the star and imposes itself as the master of the place; therefore, it was decided to keep the natural look of the site as much as possible.
The noble materials used support and structure the living areas without overloading the space.
Some key elements:
- Creation of inviting, simple, and spacious living areas.
- Well-articulated walkways that allow easy access to different landings throughout the property, despite the imposing elevation difference.
- Easy-to-maintain materials and plants.
- Despite the extent of the intervention made to this property, it feels as if everything is in its place, that this natural-looking development blends perfectly with the forest, as if it has always been part of it
