The COSMO line of lighting products has been designed with the classic lines of period lanterns in mind… Paying homage to the traditions of the past while adding a modern touch. The COSMO range of modular products is composed of two luminaires and a bollard, all of which allow for the creation of harmonious lighting ensembles that can be easily integrated into both historical and contemporary environments.
The product is structurally modular in terms of the configuration of the luminaire cage, the diameter and height of the pole and its base. The product is also modular in terms of lighting color rendering, lighting intensity and light distribution. The light module is equipped with an anti-glare lens that hides the LEDs and evens out the light, recalling the softness and warmth of traditional filament lamps and oil lamps.
The luminaire is equipped with an on-board remote connection system (IOT) that allows for the modulation of the lighting intensity depending on the location of the luminaire, the time of day and the season. This lighting control system, coupled with LED technology, allows for energy savings of more than 70%, thus reducing its ecological footprint considerably. This remote control lighting system also greatly extends the lifespan of the product by using just the right amount of light at the desired times.
The product is made of 90% recycled/recyclable aluminum parts. Four different aluminum alloys are used in the composition of the product and its shaping requires five shaping processes: extrusion, sand casting, permanent molding, high pressure injection molding and cold rolling. Its surface finish is made up of baked polyester powder paint specially developed to cover aluminum and applied electrostatically, which gives it greater structural and aesthetic durability. The modularity of the parts that compose it allows the product to be personalized in terms of its surface finishes, both in terms of colors and textures.
The design of the luminaire is totally centered on the human being, whether it be its appearance, its lighting performance, its installation system, its maintenance or its life cycle. The COSMO product line is the synthesis of Lumca's work and vision of what the future of outdoor lighting should be. This new product line reflects the way public spaces should be lit in order to provide a sense of comfort and safety to the citizens who live, work, study and visit these public places every day, making urban neighborhoods a pleasant place to live.
