Cordon bleu stands out for its unique harmony between aesthetics and functionality, embodying a fusion of modernism and post-modernism principles. The juxtaposition of contrasting materials – the flexibility of rope and the rigor of steel – evokes a material symbiosis that defies convention, while preserving the integrity of each component. Its monochrome blue approach, in conjunction with the industrial and contemporary look brought by the metal tubing, creates a strong visual presence, asserting its personality in any space it occupies.
In the detailed design phase of Cordon bleu, the balance between aesthetics and functionality was meticulously explored, resulting in a product that embodies innovation while respecting the initial objectives of exploring assembly techniques. By choosing an enlarged seat, comfort is optimized without compromising the structure, demonstrating a commitment to marrying form and function. The adoption of a blue monochrome theme reinforces the chair’s visual presence, while steel and rope, in their duality, illustrate a fusion of strength and suppleness. This combination creates a dialogue between the materials, each complementing the other without losing its integrity.
The emphasis on simplicity of line underlines the minimalist approach, where the half-inch-diameter steel tube offers visual and structural coherence. Certain parts of the metal rod have been deliberately concealed to maintain the chair’s clean aesthetic, while ensuring a solid construction capable of withstanding the demands of everyday use.
