In the heart of Montreal’s Old Port, within a century-old heritage building, a metamorphosis took place. Our project involved a major renovation of a condo, combining the majesty of the past with a breath of modernity. The ceiling structure, a masterpiece of timelessly beautiful wood, was carefully preserved. In rearranging the spaces, we improved the functionality of the bedroom by adding bespoke storage. The kitchen, once an enclosed laboratory, has metamorphosed into a haven of light, opening onto a living space where clarity reigns.
The fireplace has been subtly readjusted to harmonize its antique aesthetic with the new furnishings that surround it. The wooden windows, a legacy of another age, have been lovingly preserved, and their risers are now adorned with quartz for added durability. Carefully selected materials and furnishings, in shades of white, beige and cream, harmonize with the old, contrasting delicately to reveal the natural beauty and nobility of the antique elements. The library, suspended like a precious relic on chains, remains the jewel of this home, enriching every corner of its history and soul. Here is a renaissance where heritage and innovation come together in a symphony of elegance and grace, revealing the very essence of the art of living.
