The Ermitage Saint-Laurent, perched high on a rock overlooking the majestic St. Lawrence River, has been conceived as a warm and welcoming haven, offering the spectacle of an exceptional view and experience. Both sleek, warm, and timeless, each space has been optimally designed to ensure comfort, functionality, and beauty in synergy.
The timeless Scandinavian-inspired form is distinguished by its large windows and its original and distinctive cantilever. The wood-clad upper floor topped with a metal roof appears to rest on two blocks of concrete, with their stucco cladding, reminiscent of the stone blocks of the mountain on which it is nestled.
The entrance is located on the ground floor, flanked by the garage and mud room, and extends to the family room and children’s bedrooms and their bathroom. The staircase leads us to the upper floor, where the surprise effect is unique and captures the imagination, opening dramatically to the large living space featuring a breathtaking view. Here, we find a very functional kitchen with a large pantry, as well as the dining room and the living room in a row. The floor-to-ceiling windows magnify the stunning view of the infinite river. The cathedral ceiling adorned with reclaimed antique barn beams caps this space up to the fireplace wall flanked by its wooden bookshelves. A large 10-foot door and its transom open to the master suite, through a dressing room on each side, leading us to the master bedroom and its bathroom.
