GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN – 16th edition

Discipline : Communication & Branding

Categories : Communication Design / Packaging : Silver Certification

Blanche is a new line of natural cleaning products for the Canadian market. It is the result of a collaboration between interior designer Paule Bourbonnais and Myriam Tellier, president of Planette, an eco-friendly products company. Made from 100% natural ingredients such as Marseille soap and essential oils, the cleaners are in perfect harmony with the environment. In parallel, a unique fragrance was developed by an aromatologist. Fresh and invigorating with notes of conifer and citrus, it seeks to dissipate tension and stagnant energies.

The primary intention behind Blanche’s identity is to draw inspiration from the world of interior design rather than operate according to the usual codes of green nature cleaning products. Minimalist, soft and contemporary are the keywords that guide our graphic choices in the design of the labels. To achieve this concretely, the uncluttered look of the products is important; fine typography, reduction of the information transmitted, flat color. We have therefore transformed an everyday consumer product into a trendy accessory that allows us to address current environmental issues with style and elegance. As a result, Blanche’s social impact is considerable as it changes people’s relationship with household products. The bottles can be proudly displayed on countertops, allowing the decorations to shine as much by the aestheticism as by the effectiveness of the products. More deeply, Blanche evokes well-being and leaves a touch of nostalgia.

Blanche is made in Quebec by a family-owned small business in a human-scale workshop where the principles of circular economy are applied. All ingredients are purchased in bulk to minimize waste and essential oils are purchased directly from growers to ensure full traceability. Plastic bottles are sustainable, recyclable and designed to be reused.
