The main goal when designing the BILY collection was to create a lounge chair that transcends expectations of comfort while adapting to the organic trends of the moment. With this in mind, we sought to give these chairs a residential appearance while meeting commercial durability requirements. The BILY collection was therefore designed to redefine relaxation spaces by offering a design that combines comfort, aesthetics and durability, thus meeting the changing needs of users.
Working with specialized external designers, the design team explored the possibilities offered by molded foam, a proven technique which we have innovatively adapted to ensure dimensional consistency throughout the manufacturing process.
Designing the cover presented a significant challenge, particularly due to our desire to create an adhesive-free solution as part of our commitment to using green materials in our product design. Elaborate patterns have been developed to allow the fabric to perfectly match the shape of the lounge chair, thus reducing production time and environmental impacts. At the same time, designing the wooden base was also a challenge, as it had to be both stylish and durable. This base was developed to combine organic style, lightness and solidity, thus contributing to the overall aesthetics of the product.
The BILY collection stands out for its versatility and customization. Available with a high back, low back or even a version offering increased privacy, each lounge chair can be mounted on one of three bases available, offering a variety of options to adapt to all environments. The intimate backrest, ideal for demarcating open spaces, offers an intimate touch to collaboration areas, lounges and lobbies. In addition, we do not reject any fabric choice, opening up an infinite range of customization possibilities.
