A Work Environment Woven into Montreal’s Urban Structure.
Let us invite you on a Montreal journey through the new offices of Avison Young. It was essential for our clients to affirm and illustrate through their new office spaces the uniqueness and singularity of the city of Montreal, while remaining within the framework and corporate image of this international firm.
Let’s start our tour with the reception area, a welcoming space with its soft color tones and noble materials such as the light wood and the marble on the reception desk. The wooden element featured in the forefront is a strong structural element right from the entrance; it is multifunctional and extends into the workspaces.
Let’s take a stroll down Mont-Royal Street and its summer festival cabins that invite employees and visitors to relax and collaborate, evoking the city’s convivial atmosphere. Let’s stop for a coffee break where the counter, with its round mosaic, subtly evokes that of Peel metro station, borrowing the characteristic charm of this emblematic stop in Montreal.
In the open area, the unassigned workstations represent Avison Young’s willingness to adapt to their new needs and those of their collaborators. These are arranged around the perimeter to take full advantage of natural light. Closed offices and meeting rooms are at the center of the space and benefit from this light pouring through glass partitions.
Let’s stroll down St-Laurent Boulevard, an open-air museum, and the Mural Festival, an internationally renowned event, interpreted here by a mural by Montreal artist David Major, which energizes the space with its attractive colors. When you linger there, you can recognize all the neighborhoods, streets, and iconic buildings of the city.
Montreal is populated with beautiful urban parks, La Fontaine Park, Mount Royal Park, Jarry Park, or Maisonneuve Park, which allow citizens to rest and relax. In the same spirit, lounge areas have been set up to add variety of seating and comfort to users.
As for the Jean-Talon Market, it offers a light-filled space during lunchtime, with its open ceilings and access to the terrace on beautiful summer days. The bench, a colour gradient inspired by the Villa-Maria metro station, invites employees to work or relax in an informal setting. Plants have been suspended to recreate the warm atmosphere of markets and the numerous Montreal cafes.
The Place-des-Arts space has the ability to host various corporate events. Adjacent to the cafeteria, the conference room offers versatility with its integrated movable partitions, allowing the space to be quickly transformed to offer an area combining technology and access to the cafeteria for banquets or receptions.
Avison Young’s offices in Montreal reflect the dynamic and cultural essence of this metropolis. Every detail has been carefully considered by Métaphore to reflect the vibrant personality and diversity of Montreal, while providing a stimulating and welcoming work environment.
